The Amazing Misadventures of Gensi

𝕴n the wonderful land of Poorlirhiten, a young girl stood outside her home, hanging up her clothes to dry. Two guards heavily armored walked up to her. The first one opened a scroll.

“Are you Gensi?” One of the armored men questioned.

Gensi looked suspiciously at the two guards, “… no.”

The two guards stood there as Gensi hung the still wet clothes on a wire, “Was there anything else you needed?”

“We have orders from their royal majesty‘s to wait for Gensi to arrive home.”

“Do you want me to take a message?” Gensi asked awkwardly.

“No.”

“Well what if I am Gensi?”

“Then we must speak with you.”

“Am I— or Gensi in trouble?”

“Well we couldn’t force you to do anything but—“

“Then I refuse.” Gensi said with a nod, “I think you might have the wrong person. In case you didn’t know, I’m only 12.”

“We were supposed to summon you when you turned the age of 12 to complete the prophecy—“

“I’m gonna stop you right there.” Gensi interrupted, “You have to rely on a random 12-year-old to save the world from a dragon? You two look pretty strong. Why can’t you do it yourselves?”

“U-uh—“

“Don’t answer that.” Gensi said as she backed into her house, “Thanks a lot boys, but no.” With that, she slammed the door. The guard walked up to the door and knocked again.

“The reward for defeating it is 30,000 gold.”

A few seconds passed.

Gensi opened the door, “I’m listening…”
